Cucumber Seeds - Southern Delight - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Cucumis sativus. 50-60 days. Warm season annual. This is an excellent hybrid Japanese cucumber that has smooth, deep green skin with small white spines. The burpless fruits mature to 9" long, 1" in diameter, and have excellent flavor and quality. It is recommended for open field growing and has high tolerance to heat. The very vigorous, high yielding plants are resistant to downy mildew, powdery mildew, anthracnose, and CMV. It has a monoecious flowering habit (plant produces both male and female flowers). Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring/early summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Or start seeds indoors and transplant when weather warms. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Optimum growing temperatures are 75°F daytime and 60 F at night. Train to climb a vertical support for better air circulation, straighter fruits, and ease of harvest. Used for pickling or salads. Cut cubes of very ripe cucumbers and add to soup. Approximately 1100 seeds / oz.
